Romania was the last Eastern Bloc country to overthrow the Communist regime, culminating in the execution of dictator Nicolai Ceauşescu and his wife on Christmas Day in 1989.

It was one of the bloodiest revolutions in living memory with over 1,000 loosing their lives in the proceedings.

It's a tale of greed: Ceauşescu bled the country dry financially to indulge in eccentric and extravagant projects. A tale of courage: students risked their lives to overthrow the State Television Station. A tale of paranoia: the regime planted secret police and as a result people couldn't even trust their neighbours. A tale of cruelty: An estimated 2,000,000 died or went missing during the dictators 24 year reign, not to mention the now famous orphanages...

Fusion Films plans to commemorate the 20th anniversary with a feature length drama documentary telling the story leading up to the revolution, both through the eyes of people present, drama reconstructions and actual footage shot by the world's news cameras.

Interested broadcasters should get in touch now to request copies of the script and full proposal.
