Set in the dining room of a further education college, Nightschool is a high quality sitcom and was shot as a multi-camera 'studio' shoot using Hi-Definition Video.

Nightschool is a place is full of freaks, weirdoes and bunches of illiterate misfits. They want to be children again; they want to have fewer worries and days when it never rained, when the biggest concern was to get their homework in on time. The law of the playground prevails, bully or be bullied, stand up for yourself but know when it's time to shut your mouth.

CHARACTERS
MICHAEL is in his early thirties, studying acting and very opinionated.
CAROL is 26, a single mother and is setting up her own business.
PETER is the oldest at 35 he is a former labourer in an engineering factory, he can't read, he needs to learn literacy skills in order to get a job, he is married with three children.
GEOFF, 30, is training to be a chef; he wants to be a famous culinary superstar. It's a pity he can't cook.
LIZ is in her early thirties, single and works at the college; she is a serial nightschool attendee. She likes cushions and makes all her own curtains.
DAVID is a talented performer who makes no secret of his sexuality, and uses it to great affect in making the homophobic Michael exceptionally uncomfortable.
TILLY clears the tables in the canteen. She is kind hearted, chatty and a favourite amongst the nightschool students.
