This epic trip takes in many English canals and as Fred passes under Tower Bridge in London, there's no turning back... Europe awaits.

On his fascinating journey, Fred meets other boaters and also explores the history of the towns that have built up along the canals and rivers en route. Of course, a keen cook himself, Fred finds it hard to resist the varying culinary cultures he travels through on the 10 week journey.

From the once busy and heavily industrial English canals to the mighty Danube River spanning 7 countries the landscapes are both stunning and varied.

The 10 weeks will be conveniently broken down into an episode for each country travelled though.
